How it Started

2014

As a wine and food lover, I have started to import boutique Turkish wines to the Netherlands after I have stopped my 30 years of professional career at the end of 2017.

Let`s go back to 2014 for a while when our real story has begun. We have bought a land in 2012 in our hometown, Denizli which was a vineyard previously and uprooted totally just before the sale for different purposes. After two years of waiting period, we have decided to dedicate most part of the land to a vineyard. The tough part of the decision was which vine we shall plant.  Following the extensive soil analysis and the advice of the experts, final decision was to re-plant what belonged to the soil, Sultaniye, an indigenous grape variety mainly native to Denizli and the nearby towns.

First Harvest and the Wine

2016

In 2016, we had the first harvest. What a great feeling…  Now the question was what to do with this first harvest. I have called Mr. S.Karagozoglu, the owner of Pasaeli wines whom I have met in different occasions and asked him if he can produce a dessert wine from this limited harvest. They did it, even more. Besides dessert wine, they made a dry white wine, naturally both with limited amounts.

Getting into Wine Business

2018

Our dreams just came true. There was a wine in the market produced by the grapes from our own grapes.

With this motivation, the first wines imported at the beginning of 2018 was limited amounts of a dry white wine and a dessert wine to present it to the Dutch wine lovers.

Now, we are importing almost all wines of Pasaeli Winery by sharing a common goal for promoting indigenous grape varieties of Turkey, in some cases, forgotten grapes and revived from extinction.

Our efforts to introduce different grapes of Turkey will continue.

Cheers…
